2. KID’S RESIDENCE
Of all the 388 children, only 11 orphans are able to sleep in school-nearest mosque as the SCHOOL’S compound is small hence can’t accommodate all to sleep there. The desire for all to be boarding is there but the resources are scarce. So, the rest of the 85 kids sleep in their relative’s, friend’s houses around and some in our volunteer teacher’s homes.
3. MATTRESSES AND BEDS
There are 184 children below the age of 6 years and they require 61 cots for daytime naps. Beds are needed for resident children.
270,000 KES ca.2.300 Euro (gem. Stand 1/19)
4. Kitchen equipments
2 sinks, big cooking pots, 300 pieces of plates, cups, spoons will cost about 208,000 KES ca. 1.800 Euro (gem. Stand 1/19)
5. DESKS
AND TABLES, OTHER IMPORTANT FURNITURE
Some classes have few desks where 5 kids share a single desk. The ratio of Desks to children should be 1:3 but due to limited resources, some kids just use the
floor to write. Each class should have a table but currently, no class has a table. Also, they are lacking tables in the proposed library room. So we hope to have more desks even better or
improved ones in future. Moreover 20 dining hall benches and 4 office cabins are needed.
528,000 KES ca. 4.500 Euro (gem. Stand 1/19)
6. TEXTBOOKS AND SHELVES
1.244.640,00 KES ca.11.000 Euro (gem. Stand 1/19)
7. RUNNING WATER NO PRICING CURRENTLY
The facility does not have direct running water. We buy water daily in 20 liters jerricans from the nearby commercial water vendor. When there is water rationing, we have a 2,000 liters-water storage tank. Also, sometimes we use the tank for rainwater harvesting. There is a commercial water running pipe right at the main road, so we can buy a few pipes and meter then we connect to avoid buying water in the future. 207,000 KES ca.1.800 Euro (gem. Stand 1/19)
